Regional Campus Minister
Daniel Johnson
Meet Daniel! Daniel loves college students and believes they can make an exponential impact on the kingdom, and can't imagine serving in any other ministry. Daniel loves the SEC, graduating from UGA and serving at the Ole Miss BSU for four years, and as the Lexington Regional Campus Minister and the Campus Minister at the University of Kentucky for the last three years. Daniel holds an MDiv New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a DMin from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He loves all things nerdy, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife, Sarah, their son, Caleb, and their daughter, Naomi Grace.

Cecilia Shacklett
Meet Cecilia! Cecilia grew up in several states but claims Birmingham, AL as home. She studied Worship Leadership at Samford University and graduated in May of 2021. Then she moved to Lexington to get married to her husband Ben in January of 2022.
Cecilia has been on staff at the BCM since August of 2022. She helps with finances, women's discipleship, and the worship team. She also serves as the Worship Leader at The Mission Church of Lexington, one of the BCM's church partners.
In her free time she loves to grab coffee with friends, play video games, and spend time with her husband and their cat and dog.
Campus Ministry Associate
Cameron Mitchell
Meet Cameron! Cameron grew up in Corbin, Kentucky before coming to the University of Kentucky in 2019 to study Architecture. He married his wife, Taylor, in December 2022 two weeks before graduating college.
He was involved in the BCM during college and served as an freshman bible study leader his senior year. He loves teaching people something new about God that they did not know before.
In his free time, he loves playing board games, coding, and wrestling with his dog.

Taylor Mitchell
Meet Taylor! Taylor grew up most of her life in a small town in northwestern Ohio before moving to Kentucky in 2019 for school. She studied both hospitality management and marketing at the University of Kentucky and graduated in May of 2023. She got married to her husband, Cameron, in December 2022.
She loves shepherding and discipling college aged women and believes in the impact that campus ministries can have on the future of college student’s lives because that is true for her own life!
In her free time, she loves getting coffee, thrifting, and being the ultimate plant and dog mom.

Macy Borders
Meet Macy!
Macy grew up right here in Lexington! She graduated from BCTC Cosmetology school in 2023 and splits her time between working in the Cosmetology field and at BCM. Macy and her husband Jared got married in January of this year.
She previously served on the Events team and as a Freshman Focus leader here at the BCM. She loves discipling young women and serving in international ministry!
In her free time she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with friends and family!
Intern
Jared Borders
Meet Jared! Jared is from Covington, KY. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2024 with a degree in Family Financial Counseling, and is now pursuing his Masters of Divinity with a specialization in Missions at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also recently married to Macy, they got married in January of 2025!
Jared has worked with international students at the UK BCM for the past two years, and will be interning on staff to continue his work and to also mobilize students to go overseas. He spent two months overseas in Southeast Asia in 2023, and is passionate about seeing the nations reached.
In his free time, Jared enjoys watching movies, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Reds, hiking, and playing video games.
Intern
Colin Charles
Meet Colin! Colin is from Versailles, Ky. He is a 2024 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in forensic toxicology and a degree in general chemistry. He is a first year graduate student at UK, pursuing a PhD in analytical chemistry.
While at EKU he served in many different ministries at the BCM and his church at home in Versailles and where he attended while in Richmond. He served a leadership/coordinator role at the BCM with the worship team. At UK’s BCM he is serving as an intern. He is excited to have a role in discipling the students and see how God will work through the ministry to work on UK’s campus.
Outside of the BCM, Colin enjoys running, watching/playing sports, and playing instruments.
